Finding funny faces at the National Portrait Gallery in Westminster

I’m lucky to regularly visit some of London’s finest art galleries through my work, but my absolute favourite has to be the National Portrait Gallery. I always like to go there with my son. Kids love looking at depictions of faces through the ages, and the NPG has plenty of ‘funny faces’ to look at.

The great thing about the NPG is that, unlike some galleries, the amount of paintings and photographs isn’t too overwhelming. You can easily pick and choose what you want to see, and when you need to take a break there’s a fabulous café which is a bit of a well kept secret and has great facilities for families and young children. The lovely shop is the perfect place to seek out unique presents and prints, and it’s also worth checking out the workshops available over the weekends for all ages. To top it all off, if you have toddlers, you’ll probably find they enjoy going up and down the huge escalator which leads up to the galleries – I know mine does!
